Upgrading your communications system no longer requires a full hardware refresh. By keeping your current Mitel desk phones, you can protect your existing investment and avoid unnecessary costs.
Moving to the cloud doesn’t have to be disruptive. Provisioning Mitel phones with 8x8 is straightforward: simply factory reset your phone and connect it to 8x8’s provisioning server. Even faster options, such as Zero Touch Provisioning, are also being explored.
With Mitel phone support, businesses have greater freedom of choice. You can adopt a cloud-first strategy without being forced down a rigid vendor path. This flexibility allows you to modernise on your own terms.
Important Note on Firmware
8x8 support applies only to Mitel phones running SIP firmware.
Phones running Minet firmware are not supported by 8x8, as Minet is compatible only with Mitel solutions.
If your phones are currently using Minet firmware, they must be migrated to SIP firmware before they can work with 8x8.
The migration from Minet to SIP is a technical and manual process that requires assistance from Mitel support. 8x8 does not provide support for this migration.
This means that if your Mitel phones are already on SIP firmware, you’ll be able to take advantage of the new 8x8 compatibility. If not, we recommend checking your firmware version before planning your migration.
